This was a very complex job. Our client’s wishes were to create a large side extension to their existing detached property, with an underground garage and music studio, all of which could be accessed from their house without the need to go outside.
The work involved huge excavation and groundwork prior to any construction work commencing. The Garage and Music studio were tanked using Newton Membrane systems. The structure was dependant on large steels to take the weight of the above loads. Reclaimed yellow stock bricks were sourced by us and laid to all the below ground works and the courtyard style driveway area. The remaining extension was laid using LBC bricks that matched the existing property.
Once the brickwork was completed, the entire roof of the existing property was renewed, so that the extension and the existing properties roof flowed seamlessly.Internally, the extension benefits from a floating oak staircase, fully designed and installed by us, glass balustrading, solid oak flooring and a high specification ensuite bathroom.Externally, the driveway was laid using granite setts, steps leading up to the ground floor level, from the driveway, were laid using Basalt slabs, all of which were sourced and installed by us.
The flat roof area above the music studio, created a perfect roof garden area, in which we laid in astro-turf. The roof garden continues onto the external lounge balcony, which benefits from a bespoke hardwood balustrading, that we made on site to our client’s specification.
