Milbarn Construction have undertaken a huge project over the winter months for The Oaks Residential care home, Hall lane, Upminster. This work included a complete removal of the majority of the roof, various structural timber repairs being carried out, before re – felting, battoning and laying new tiles. The tiles decided upon by the owner were Acme ‘burnt flame’, which are a modern tile, but give a traditional appearance due to there colouring. In excess of 1 mile of batton and 20,000 tiles have been replaced.

Milbarn Construction also carried out repairs and re-decoration to the existing timber fascias and soffits to the higher levels of the building. Once this was completed new ‘freefoam’ deep flow guttering was fitted.

Included in our clients plan was a small roof dormer to the side of the building, this has increased the size of an existing room, to give one of their guests a larger space in which to settle in.

Future projects at the Care home are to include re-modernising of the existing wetroom and further maintance of the existing property.
